Tazito ‘Taz’ Garcia talks Action on Film
Tazito “Taz” Garcia has worked his way up the Hollywood food chain thanks to two key factors- he’s ruggedly handsome with a stellar smile, but he can still kick some serious butt. When he appears on screen, audiences know that they’re looking at a real-life superhero. A former soccer and tennis pro, Canadian actor Tazito Garcia has also spent over half his life training in martial arts. Inspired by the action stars of the 80s like Jean Claude Van Damme, Sylvester Stallone and Jackie Chan.
When asked about his formula for success, Taz Garcia noted that it’s vital for would-be action stars to give it their all, and put some serious hours into getting noticed. “Work on your physique, technique, and on-camera qualities so when that time comes and someone tests you on the spot, you’re ready to impress- that could be your game changer. Wrap your scene in 5 minutes, but stick around to learn for 5 hours.”
Garcia’s star is rising quickly in the film industry, as he was awarded Breakout Action Star and Action Performer of the Year at Del Weston’s Action on Film awards in North Hollywood, LA last year. With some already tipping him as the successor to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, filmgoers will definitely be seeing a lot more of Taz in the near future.
Taz Garcia will be attending this year’s annual Action on Film Festival at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas. Last year, he became the youngest recipient of Dr Robert Goldman’s ICON AWARDS in Los Angeles. Producers take note: we predict Taz will soon be Hollywood’s next action hero !
